I like this dance song a lot from Apradhi Kaun.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kDBNiHjZhMSSWnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4340457758972439602.post-41009431683316787432014-06-05T06:00:33.257-07:002014-06-05T06:00:33.257-07:00Shilpi, I agree completely with you about the way ...Shilpi, I agree completely with you about the way songs were woven into the film's narrative, especially by directors such as Bimal Roy, Guru Dutt, Raj Kapoor, and Vijay Anand. And I share your opinion about dances - the grace, the adas, have completely gone out of them, what with the hundreds of extras and as you so aptly put it, 'aerobic exercises'.

You have included some of my favourite songs here - the ones from Madhumati and Mujhe Jeene Do are all-time favourites, while the others, especially the ones from Gumnaam are now being discovered by my 9-year-old son, so I hear them all the time. :)

I love the trivia you include, Shilpi. Like Madhu, I did not know that Badri Prasad the actor, and Badri Prasad, the choreographer were the same person. And that bit about your father hating to play lecherous villaian was hilarious. :) Anu Warrierhttp://anuradhawarrier.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4340457758972439602.post-49825782573920678032014-06-01T20:37:15.260-07:002014-06-01T20:37:15.260-07:00You included some of my favourite songs in this li...You included some of my favourite songs in this list, Shilpi (and some I'd heard of before, but never seen - like the song from Shama). And I learnt something new - that the actor Badri Prasad (who, by the way, was in another film with your father - Chhoti si Mulaqat, though they didn't share any screen time) - was also the choreographer! I didn't know that. :-)

Looking forward to the next instalment. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
